Recently Pink has released a new song called F**kin perfect and she illustrates in her video exactly what perfectionism feels like and what it can do to you. I love that song because I am glad someone has finally had the courage to speak about it in a song.
This has inspired me to write this blog post. In this blog post you will find the untold truth about it as well as how to overcome it.
Are you a perfectionist?
Do you constantly feel "not good enough", like a fraud?
Do you exhaust yourself to give an outstanding performance all the time?
This blog post gives you a new fresh insight on how to learn to be softer with
yourself.
Did you know that Portia di Rossi,Maryl Streep,Jane Fonda and many other celebrities are perfectionists?
As perfectionists we are tough on ourselves as well as on others and our relationships with ourselves as well as with others can sometimes become a battle. Often times it is because we have high expectations for ourselves and others to do things the right way, and well and as perfect as possible. We often put a lot of pressure on ourselves to do everything right. To be the perfect employee, the perfect spouse, the perfect parent, the perfect volunteer and so forth.
Often times we put a lot of pressure on ourselves which can hinder our relationships with work colleagues as well as family members. Not everybody is perfect. As a perfectionist, in your mind you know that, but you don't know how to accept non-perfection.
As a perfectionist myself, I know how difficult it is to change these old habits, but I have learned how to do that.
Accepting non perfection for you is frightening, but it doesn't have to be. It is not easy to change, but it possible.
You can be successful and stress free with a few tools.
Imagine that finally you can live a freeier life, free of these chains that are holding you in one place and preventing you to be who you really want to be. You don't have to suffer no more.
Here are some of the tools you can use to learn how to be softer with yourself:
-Write a list of everything that you have accomplished so far and note the good things of these experiences.
-Note 3 things you are happy with. Do it everyday for at least 30 days. By writing it down you internalize the good things into your brain and than you have moved forward one step towards shifting your perspective into a more positive one.
-Try to be aware of when you judge yourself as "not good enough" and see how it makes you feel.
-Hire a coach. A coach can help you be softer on yourself as well as transform your whole life quickly and effectively. I have worked with a coach myself and it gave me courage to take steps that otherwise I wouldn't take.
The most successful people are the ones who are doing things imperfect because they view mistakes as opportunities rather than simply mistakes. Strive for excellence instead of perfection and allow yourself to make mistakes.
For many years I was afraid to make mistakes, but I overcame it when I noticed that my most imperfect work was the most successful one. After all it is all about your self-perception and you have control over it.
If you want to know more about this subject I am going to have an fabulous audio about it where you can learn more amazing life transforming tools as this one. In that audio I am also going to include information on how to improve your relationships and why perfectionism can hinder your relationships.
